Fascia is a complex web of connective tissue that continuously runs throughout our bodies in a web-like pattern, surrounding every muscle, nerve, vessel, tendon, ligament, organ, bone, & insertion point. There is no space without fascia present. Pressure caused by trauma, inflammation, posture, and surgery can cause a binding effect on this tissue, creating excessive pressure and pain. Imaging such as CAT scans, MRIs & X-rays will never reveal these restrictions because of the fluid component of the fascia causing misdiagnosis and continued pain.
Using force to release the restrictions does not work for the tissue, it merely bounces back after the pressure is released due to the visioelasticity of the fascial system. However, gentle pressure resting in the restriction over a period of time allows the tissue to elongate and regain its fluid body, thus holding far longer if not eliminating the restriction completely.
This is John F. Barnes Myofascial Release (JFBMFR). This modality is gentle, consistently effective, does no harm, and is results-oriented. A JFBMFR therapist looks deeper than where the pain is. I am proud to be a practicing JFBMRF practitioner.
MFR is unlike a massage. The client can wear running shorts and for a woman a job bra and/or a tank top. No oil is used. JFBMFR also boosts immunity.
CranioSacral Therapy is a gentle modality based on the premise that the body knows how to correct itself. By gently holding different pulse points to feel the rhythm of the cerebral spinal fluid, the body is able to adjust restrictions being held within the dural tube of the spinal cord. CranioSacral is useful for relieving headaches, TMJ, sinus issues, breathing restrictions, nervousness, anxiety, insomnia and the list continues. For more information about CranioSacral therapy, please visit the Upledger Institute’s website.
This intentional deep manipulation and pressure focuses on restriction and tight muscles throughout the body. The process of proceeding slowly allows for the body to release the restrictions.
Reflexology is an ancient art of accessing all meridians of the body thus relieving & illuminating such maladies as sinusitis to menstrual cramps to back pain, headaches, shoulder issues, balance & easier birthing process

Reiki is an ancient sacred healing art. It knows no boundaries by religion or belief systems. The work “rei” means God consciousness and “ki” is life force energy. Life force energy is apparent in all life forms. If the life force energy is low or restricted, then the body is more susceptible to illness. Reiki opens up the pathways of the chakras (energy centers) of the body releasing the blockages. The body knows how to heal…reiki enhances this knowledge. Whether the client is healing from surgery, illness or just wants a boost, reiki will amplify the healing. Reiki is preformed fully clothed on the massage table. Reiki is very calming and nurturing often leading to a deep meditative sleep. No matter the reason for the reiki session, one rises feeling rejuvenated.
“Just for today, do not worry.
Just for today, do not anger.
Honor your parents, teachers, and elders.
Earn your living honestly.
Show gratitude in everything.”
