Originally from Connecticut, I’ve lived in Massachusetts since 1986. A graduate of the University of Bridgeport, leading a 30-year career in retailing including owning a business with her husband.I relied heavily on massage and Reiki as modalities to ground and allow myself to let go of day-to-day stress and heal.
I started my Reiki training in 1998 quickly realizing how this calming and nurturing modality healed myself and those around me. Understanding that massage was a vital healing force in my life, I realized that if I could help people feel this great then my life would have fulfillment. I achieved Reiki Master certification in 2003. In 2005, I started my schooling for massage and bodywork at the New England Institute for Reflexology and Universal Studies in Buzzards Bay, and was licensed in 2006.
I continued my education in Therapeutic Bodywork by attending Cranio Sacral Therapy & John F Barnes Myofascial Release seminars. These modalities have led me to understand far deeper the complexities of our bodies as we move through life, how we move, & the way that we do. Further understanding how movement can be exacerbating structural issues within the fascial system (soft tissue) If it were not for our soft tissue (fascia & muscles), we would not be able to move. This is what articulates our bones & where the pain lies. X-rays & scans do not illuminate restrictions within these tissues. I love what I do! Forever learning & repeating courses, constantly refreshing my vision & comprehension of our bodies. Our bodies & our health are our greatest assets!
Release Therapeutic Bodywork & Massage
The name “Release” came to me by meditating on what it is that I wanted to provide for clients. It is that simple! All massage and touch modalities are based on healing. To enable a body to heal it must first be allowed to release the issues and belief systems that are deeply embedded in our bodies.
The massages that are performed at Release Therapeutic Bodywork & Massage are steeped in nurturing and trust, allowing the client to release that which is no longer needed. The result is elimination of ongoing and chronic pain. I envision a world that turns to bodywork and natural healing before adding another pill.
